Nana Pecan coffee cake

This delicious powdered sugar drizzled pecan coffee cake is one of Nana’s concoctions. It is a cinch to make, and it has the potential to become one of your favorite cakes in no time. If you prefer your cake extra moist, do the toothpick test around the 35-40 minute mark.


  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole-wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup liquid egg
  • 1/4 honey
  • 1 tbsp. coffee syrup
  • 1/2 ground pecans
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar


  • Mix brown sugar, flours, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Combine milk, Liquid egg, and honey.
  • Add liquid mixture to dry ingredients.
  • Blend well.
  • Fold in ground pecans
  • Pour mixture into greased 8-inch cake pan
  • Bake cake at 350 *F for about 45 minutes or until done
  • Cool slightly
  • Remove from pan
  • Drizzle with powdered sugar
