Whole wheat cookies

How I make delicious whole wheat chocolate chip cookies

These delicious, whole wheat chocolate chips cookies are my favorite. I substituted butter with olive oil and substituted all-purpose with whole wheat flour. Yum-yum. There is nothing more delicious than these chewy chocolate chips cookies.

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 vegetable oil, or cup butter or margarine softened
  • One teaspoon vanilla
  • One egg
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • One teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup raisins

Heat oven to 375°F.
In a large mixing bowl, mix brown sugar, granulated sugar, vegetable oil, or butter, vanilla, and egg. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well (dough will be stiff). Stir in the chocolate chips and raisins. Use a tablespoon or an ice cream scoop and drop the cookie dough onto a prepared cookie sheet. Ensure cookies are at least 2 inches apart.
Bake the dough 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown around the edges (centers will be soft). Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet. Cool on a wire rack.

  1. I love the picture step-by-step directions. 🙂 Currently trying to decrease my sugar intake because I’ve really gone overboard since this pandemic, but I’ll bear this recipe in mind for when next I’m trying out a sweet treat from scratch at home.
