Sometimes I just dash the ingredients like my grandmother used to do. And if the final product turns out ok, I would find a similar recipe and alter or substract. My wife is a reasonable good baker, but she only bake Christmas cake and she never used a recipe. We are from the old school.

Oh, yes. I do everything from scratch. But I mostly modify other recipes I find interesting.

so with the pumpkin cake I noticed you didn’t describe the ingredients or how to make it. Did you use fresh pumpkin?
